Nestlé Bangladesh Plants Trees Nationwide on World Environment Day

Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, in celebration of World Environment Day, undertook a nationwide Tree Plantation Program in all 64 districts of Bangladesh, partnering with educational institutions across the country.

According to a press release, the program’s objective is to utilize nature’s own solution to reduce carbon in the atmosphere while raising awareness about global warming. Deepal Abeywickrema, the chairman and managing director of Nestlé Bangladesh, inaugurated the campaign at Sabujbagh Govt College. During a brief session with students, he encouraged them to contribute to addressing climate change, emphasizing that even small actions make a significant difference in creating a better planet.

As a leading nutrition, health, and wellness company globally, Nestlé is going above and beyond its commitments by aiming to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through its ‘Roadmap to Net Zero’ initiative, Nestlé is actively engaged in climate initiatives, sustainable packaging, sustainable sourcing, afforestation, and advocating for behavioral change, which is of particular importance.
