Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, visited the Walton Mega Stall at the 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2024, held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal New Town, on the outskirts of the capital, on Sunday (21 January). The visit took place following the inauguration of the month-long trade fair.
According to a press release, the Prime Minister was impressed by the array of “Made in Bangladesh” labeled Walton products and the significant progress achieved by the local brand in manufacturing high-tech items.
During her visit, Sheikh Hasina expressed particular satisfaction with Walton’s brand of laptops, smart fridges, air conditioners, televisions, lifts, and energy-saving home appliances. She commended the remarkable progress in Bangladesh’s manufacturing capabilities for such products.

Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, SM Mahbubul Alam, who was present during the Prime Minister’s visit, noted that Sheikh Hasina extended her greetings to Walton for its initiatives in manufacturing products of the highest standards with advanced features. The visit highlighted the Prime Minister’s recognition of the achievements and advancements in the local manufacturing sector, particularly within the hi-tech product category.
