PRAN-RFL launch ‘Let’s Save the Planet’ campaign Tomorrow

PRAN-RFL, a prominent business conglomerate in the country, is preparing to introduce a campaign called “Let’s Save the Planet” as part of its corporate social responsibility to safeguard the environment. According to a press release, the campaign will be inaugurated by Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital on June 2.

During a press conference held at the PRAN-RFL Group’s head office in Badda, the campaign’s details were unveiled by Eleash Mridha, the Managing Director of PRAN Group, and RN Paul, the Managing Director of RFL Group. On the same day, the campaign will involve cleaning various types of waste, with a particular focus on single-use plastics, at 58 locations across Bangladesh. Additionally, an awareness campaign on cleanliness will be conducted among the public.

Addressing the issue, Eleash Mridha emphasized the importance of plastic in modern society while acknowledging its contribution to environmental pollution as a non-biodegradable material. He highlighted that with proper management, it is possible to significantly protect the environment from this pollution. Mridha also highlighted the significance of plastic recycling and management in ensuring a sustainable environment, noting that PRAN-RFL Group, as the country’s largest producer of household and processed food items, has long been involved in plastic management.

RN Paul, the Managing Director of RFL Group, mentioned that PRAN-RFL has been actively engaged in plastic product recycling activities since 2012. The group has invested approximately Tk 350 crore in plastic recycling, resulting in the annual recycling of over 32,000 tonnes of plastics, including single-use plastics, to produce more than 100 different products.
