Syed M Omar Tayub’s Career Progression: From MSME Banking Head to DMD of Prime Bank

Syed M Omar Tayub has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank, following his success as the Senior Executive Vice President and Head of MSME Banking. During his tenure as Head of MSME Banking, Mr. Tayub played an instrumental role in revitalizing and expanding the bank’s MSME banking business.

Currently, Mr. Tayub is serving as the MD & CEO of Prime Bank Investment Ltd. on deputation. He began his career at Standard Chartered Bank and has held various leadership positions in MSME and Consumer Banking functions in some of Bangladesh’s leading commercial banks over the course of his 22-year career.

Mr. Tayub holds Honors and Masters degrees in Physics from the University of Chittagong and an EMBA from IBA, University of Dhaka. He has also participated in multiple local and overseas training programs and workshops throughout his career.
