Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah has been appointed as the new director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the University of Dhaka, effective Sunday.
A visionary academic and entrepreneur, he is celebrated for his significant contributions to business and education in Bangladesh. Since its establishment in 1966, IBA has significantly influenced sectors such as banking, multinational corporations, and local businesses, earning international acclaim for its excellence and leadership development.

Professor Abdullah, an IBA alumnus, has been a faculty member for 31 years. Besides his academic career, he is a renowned writer and entrepreneur, serving as a partner and global advisor to Philip Kotler. He co-authored “Essentials of Modern Marketing” with Kotler and was awarded the Kotler Distinguished Professor of Marketing title.

In 2023, Techno India University in West Bengal awarded him an honorary doctorate for his exceptional contributions to education and business.
