Rangs Group founding chairman A Rouf Chowdhury dies
A Rouf Chowdhury, the founding chairman of Rangs Group, has passed away at the age of 85. He died at his residence in Gulshan on Saturday afternoon due to complications related to old age.
The news was confirmed by Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiyan, the executive director of Rancon British Motors Ltd, to The Business Standard.
He is survived by his son Romo Rouf Chowdhury and two daughters, Romana Rouf Chowdhury and Sohana Rouf Chowdhury.
Apart from being the founder of Rangs Group, he was also the founding chairman of Sea Resources Group and one of the sponsor directors of Bank Asia Limited.
He served as one of the directors of Mediaworld Limited, the parent company of The Daily Star, an English daily.
Rouf Chowdhury completed his graduation in Business Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
