realme has unveiled exciting features for its upcoming realme 12 Pro Series at the 2024 media preview event in Las Vegas. The highlight of the announcement is the inclusion of a flagship periscope telephoto lens in the series.
The realme 12 Pro Series is set to be the first smartphone released under realme’s rebranding initiative for 2024. Sky Li, realme’s founder and CEO, shared an open letter revealing the company’s rebranding plans for the year, along with the new slogan, ‘Make it Real.’ The brand is now positioned as a tech company that deeply understands the needs of young users. The realme number series, in particular, will focus on being the future of next-gen imaging.
During the media event, attendees were given a sneak peek into the realme 12 Pro Series, showcasing its innovative periscope telephoto technology and a luxurious watch-inspired design. realme recognizes the preferences of young users for telephoto lenses with 3X zoom or more, typically found in flagship phones. To cater to this demand, the realme 12 Pro Series introduces flagship-exclusive periscope telephoto technology, offering enhanced night shot clarity, reduced flare, and a 3X Portrait Mode with a 71mm golden focal length for natural depth of field.

The realme 12 Pro Series excels in telephoto capabilities, boasting up to 120X digital zoom. Its periscope telephoto sensor features the OV64B flagship sensor, making it the largest in its segment and surpassing competitors, including the iPhone 15 Pro. The telephoto lens is nearly three times more light-sensitive than its iPhone counterpart, thanks to its larger aperture and light intake.
The main camera of the realme 12 Pro Series boasts the Sony IMX890 OIS, enhancing nighttime photography with a large 1/1.56” sensor, a 24mm equivalent focal length, and a wide f/1.8 aperture. With OIS support, the camera provides stable video recording and optimizes photo success rates. The series also features a periscope telephoto and ultra-wide-angle camera, offering lossless zoom at various levels for a flagship-level photographic experience.

realme has collaborated with Qualcomm to enhance image processing with the MasterShot Algorithm, making the realme 12 Pro Series the first in its segment to process RAW domains. This ensures top-notch clarity, dynamic range, and realism in cinematic portraits.
In a unique move, realme has partnered with Ollivier Savéo, an international luxury watch design master, to infuse luxury watch aesthetics into the 12 Pro Series. Inspired by classic timepieces, the industrial design of the series incorporates refined elements, elevating the overall visual appeal.
