Job Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Manager- Media & Communications works directly under the guidance of the Communications and Media Manager to identify and proactively develop relationships with influential Bangladesh media, write and provide leads on newsworthy press materials for both national and international media.
  • The incumbent also collaborates closely with the country and regional office Media & Communications team.
  • S/he produces quality information and documentation targeted at both internal and external audiences; internal communications to focus on updating the response situation report, providing response updates for the team leader when needed, and external communications to focus on the coordination and the production of donor briefing papers.
  • S/he further remains responsible for collecting case studies, success stories and documenting program activities when needed.
  • S/he extends support in coordinating high-level visits in particular and other content gathering visits.

Educational Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Communication/Journalism/Public Administration/Social Science or relevant field

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years (s)

Additional Requirements

  • At least 5 years working experience in communications and media wing, preferably in a non-profit environment, including a prior background in journalism
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully executing communication strategies
  • Experience in managing media relations and building rapport with local media networks, government representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Fluent spoken and excellent report writing skills both in English & Bengali
  • Ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Advanced computer & IT literacy along with proficiency in MS-Office suite
  • Excellent research, analytical skills, and presentation skills
  • Well-versed in content development and management of social media platforms
