The Seventh Walton Cup Golf Tournament 2025, organized by the Army Golf Club and sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, concluded on Friday (28 February) with a vibrant closing and prize-giving ceremony.
In the main championship category, Brigadier General (retd) Md Zahidur Rahim clinched the title. Among the ladies’ competitors, Sharmin Jahangir emerged as the champion, while Shayla Ahsan secured the Best Gross title, and Jyotsna Ara Neela finished as the runner-up.
The junior category saw Khan Farhan Ahmed claim the championship, with Rayim Al Mabrook winning the Best Gross award. In the veterans’ division, Wing Commander (retd) M Saiful Islam was crowned champion, while Colonel (retd) Mohammad Aminul Islam earned the Best Gross honor.

In the senior category, Brigadier General (retd) G M Kamrul Islam emerged victorious, followed by Brigadier General (retd) Abu Sohel as the runner-up. The Best Gross title in this category went to Major (retd) Md Arman Ali Bhuiyan.
The tournament’s closing ceremony was graced by Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed (OSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC), President of the Army Golf Club, who attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners. The event was also attended by Walton Group’s Vice-Chairman, S M Nurul Alam Rezvi, and Army Golf Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General (retd) Syed Ahmed Ali (PBGM, NDC).

This year’s tournament witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 800 amateur golfers, including 480 regular golfers, 76 veterans, 206 seniors, 42 ladies, and 16 juniors. A total of 23 participants were recognized with awards for their outstanding performances.
