Bangladeshi Mountaineer Ikramul Hasan Shakil Completes ‘Great Himalayan Trail’ with Daraz’s Support

Ikramul Hasan Shakil, the first Bangladeshi mountaineer to achieve the remarkable feat of conquering the ‘Great Himalayan Trail,’ commenced his challenging journey from Hilsa town, located at the northwest border of Nepal-Tibet on 1st August 2022, as stated in a press release.

This fearless mountaineer pushed his limits, traversing over 1,700 kilometers during his audacious quest. Enduring treacherous landscapes, unforgiving weather conditions, and conquering 29 challenging high passes, Shakil tirelessly pursued his dream to reach the Great Himalayan Trail.

Throughout his expedition, Shakil faced numerous obstacles, including 14 inaccessible and dangerous passes towering over 5,000 meters, scarcity of food, and hostile weather. Nevertheless, his unwavering perseverance bore fruit as he accomplished his awe-inspiring journey, reaching the Kanchenjunga base camp on 9th July, making him the 33rd person globally to achieve this remarkable feat.
