SMEs to get one-stop service centres
SMEs Foundation and Aspire to Innovate (a2i) have announced that they will jointly develop over 8,250 digital centres across the country as one-stop service centres for local small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
The entrepreneurs will be able to benefit from services such as space, training and consultancy from those centres.
30 digital centres in 27 upazilas of 22 districts all over the country have started to implement the activities of the pilot programme, as per a press release.
NM Zeaul Alam, senior secretary to the ICT division, inaugurated the activities of the pilot programme in 30 digital centres at Agargaon, Dhaka yesterday.
The state-owned entities also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard at the event.
The project director of a2i, Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, and the managing director of SME Foundation, Md Mafizur Rahman, signed an MoU.
Currently, 16,087 entrepreneurs are providing digital services to 8,297 centers across the country. These services include banking, e-commerce, and other public and private services.
