Sony-Smart’s G-5 policy gets international recognition

Sony-Smart’s Genuine-5 (G-5) policy, aimed at safeguarding consumer interests in the sale of electronics products in the local market, has garnered international acclaim. The policy was recognized as a “Best Practice” at the Sony Business Partners Conference 2023 (SBPC) held in Singapore.

At the event, the Sony-Smart team was honored with a crest and a motivational cheque of USD 2,000 to encourage Sony distributors in other countries to adopt the G-5 policy. The award was presented to Sony-Smart Chairman Mohd. Mazharul Islam and Deputy General Manager (Marketing) Azad Rahman by Jeremy Heng Chun Guan, President of RMDC, Sony South East Asia. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Sony-Smart Director Md. Tanvir Hossain, Sony International Bangladesh Branch Head Ricky Lucas, Sony-Smart General Manager and Head of Sales Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, Assistant General Manager Md. Zubair Hossain, and official distributors of Sony from various countries.

The SBPC reviewed Sony’s achievements and business accomplishments over the past year, emphasizing the importance of maximizing customer satisfaction through innovative product marketing strategies. Azad Rahman, Deputy General Manager (Marketing) of Sony-Smart, delivered an audio-visual presentation highlighting the organization’s G-5 activities.

Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, now known as Sony-Smart, is a leading marketer of ICT products in Bangladesh, representing around 100 global-brand ICT products in the country. Since November 26, 2021, Sony-Smart has been the official distributor of Sony’s electronics products and related services in Bangladesh.

In response to the international recognition of Sony-Smart’s G-5 policy, Chairman Mohd. Mazharul Islam expressed pride and joy, highlighting the company’s dedication to providing genuine products, prices, and services. He urged Sony enthusiasts to avoid purchasing fake or refurbished products from unauthorized sources and emphasized the importance of acquiring genuine products from showrooms displaying the Sony-Smart signboard.
