STEM Fest 2023 held at International Hope School Bangladesh

The International Hope School Bangladesh (IHSB) recently held its STEM Fest 2023 on February 5th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at its Main Campus in Uttara, Dhaka. The event was graced by H. E. Architect Yeafesh Osman, the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology for the Government of Bangladesh, who served as the Chief Guest.

In his inaugural address, H. E. Architect Yeafesh Osman shared important messages through storytelling and poetry, discussing the birth of “Digital Bangladesh” and the impact of computer literacy on marginalized communities. He also highlighted the role of mobile phones in driving economic growth in Bangladesh. The minister expressed his hope that IHSB students will become a source of inspiration for the nation. The students were highly engaged by his speech, applauding after every poem or story. Ms. Roksana Zarin, the Principal of IHSB, along with other high school officials, presented the minister with an honorary crest and gift.

STEM Fest aimed at enhancing the scientific prowess, problem solving and critical analysis skills of the students. The projects on display were divided into five categories: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information and Communication Technology and Food Science. The main highlights of the event were the Student versus Robot Rubik’s Cube Challenge, Bridge Load Testing Display, and IHSB NASA Rover Team Project Display. Some extraordinary projects caught everyone’s attention, such as the Air Hockey Table, Artificial Pancreas, Hydroponics in Vertical Farming, Vegan Burgers, Molecular Gastronomy, Forest Fire Detection, Robotics Showcase by Hopian Mathematics, Programming and Robotics Club (HMPRC), Obstacle Detecting Bot, Drone, Paper Recycling Machine and many more to list. Respected lecturers from three universities from STEM fields were invited as judges to decide upon the worthy winners from each category.
