Tap brings DPS facility
Trust Axiata Pay (Tap) and Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) have introduced a new DPS facility for their customers to facilitate both general and Shariah-based Islamic savings.
The service was launched in Dhaka’s Gulshan Wednesday, and tap customers will not have to stand in a queue or visit a bank to make payment for their DPS service. Instead, anyone can open and operate an account through the tap app. Through tap, a certain amount of money every month would be deposited automatically into the designated bank account.
Opening a DPS account is a great way to save money. By accessing the tap app, you can open an account and decide how much you want to contribute each month. You will also have to provide information about which date of the month the money will be deducted from your tap account.
Dewan Nazmul Hasan, CEO of tap, and Syed Mahbubur Rahman, MD and CEO of MTB, were in attendance at the launching ceremony.
Nazmul said: “There is nothing that can replace savings services when it comes to getting financial benefits in the future. We’re hopeful that, because of this joint venture between Mutual Trust Bank and tap, customers will be more inclined to save.”
Mahbubur said that saving is essential for financial security and future planning. He applauded Mutual Trust Bank and tap for taking the initiative of DPS to encourage customers to save.
