TK Group Set to Establish a Network of International Schools

Bangladesh’s renowned industrial powerhouse, TK Group of Industries, is embarking on an initiative to establish a chain of international schools across the country. The first school in this endeavor, New Horizon Canadian International School (NHCS), is currently under construction in Hatirjheel. NHCS will operate as a global offshore school, operating under the direct supervision and administration of the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Education in Canada.

The inauguration ceremony for New Horizon Canadian International School (NHCS) took place at the Grand Ball Room of Sheraton Dhaka on Sunday, June 11, as stated in a press release. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Asaduzzaman Khan, the Home Minister of Bangladesh. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, and Angela Dirk, Charge d’Affairs ad Interim at the Canadian High Commission, were also in attendance as special guests.

Notable figures present at the ceremony included Md Amirul Haque, Chairman of NHCS; Mohammad Mostafa Haider, Managing Director of NHCS; Alan Schroeder, Director of International Education at the British Columbia Ministry of Education, Canada; and Crystal Juice, Principal of NHCS, who attended as guests of honor.

With an established presence in eight countries over the past 35 years, British Columbia Offshore School has gained recognition worldwide. TK Group of Industries has successfully obtained permission to operate this school in Bangladesh, making it the ninth country to host such an institution. The school will adhere to the curriculum approved by the British Columbia Ministry of Education and employ certified principals and teachers who are Canadian citizens, as mentioned in the press release.

Students at NHCS will benefit from direct enrollment opportunities in universities across Commonwealth countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, France, and others. The school aims to offer a wide range of international and in-school extracurricular activities, along with various international school certifications, to equip its graduates with the necessary skills and qualifications for a seamless transition to the world’s top universities.
