Walton, a leading electronics company listed on the country’s capital market, has been honoured with the ‘National Export Trophy’.
This prestigious award recognizes Walton’s significant contributions to Bangladesh’s electrical and electronics export sector during the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
The company was one of 73 recipients awarded at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital city on Wednesday, November 8th, as per a press statement.
The event saw Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi presenting the ‘National Export Trophy’ to the winners. Accepting on behalf of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Chairman SM Shamsul Alam was Company Additional Managing Director (AMD) S M Shoyeb Hossain Nobel.
Also in attendance were special guests AHM Ahsan, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau, and Mahbubul Alam, President of FBCCI. Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh oversaw the gathering.
In response to receiving the award, Walton’s AMD S M Shoyeb Hossain Nobel commented on how Walton had transformed Bangladesh’s previously import-heavy electrical and electronics market by manufacturing and selling internationally standard appliances domestically.

He also mentioned that Walton had captured a significant share of this domestic market while earning substantial foreign currencies by exporting their Made in Bangladesh labelled products.
