Walton Hands Over Four Electric-Bikes to Government Office

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited has provided four electric bicycles (e-bikes) to be used in various government offices, including the Prime Minister’s office. The offices receiving these e-bikes are Ganabhaban, the Road Transport and Highways Division, and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

During a recent handover ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office on September 24th, Walton’s Chairman, SM Rezaul Alam, presented the Takyon brand e-bikes to Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, ABM Amin Ullah Nuri (Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division), and Nur Mohammad Mazumder (Chairman of BRTA). Additional Managing Director Liakat Ali from Walton Digi-Tech Industries and other government officials were also in attendance.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah encouraged relevant government departments to take measures that promote the use of eco-friendly and cost-effective vehicles. He emphasized that electric bikes are not only environmentally friendly but also economically beneficial. As the adoption of e-bikes increases, the reliance on fossil fuels will decrease, providing a more hassle-free and cost-effective mode of transportation for users. Principal Secretary Miah commended Walton for its initiative in manufacturing and marketing electric bikes in the country.

SM Rezaul Alam, Chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited, expressed the company’s commitment to environmental protection and cost-effective transportation. He stated that the distribution of e-bikes to government offices was aimed at allowing government officials to experience the high-quality e-bikes offered to customers. Their feedback and experiences will guide future initiatives in this area.

It is worth noting that Walton’s electric bikes are approved by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). These e-bikes are exceptionally cost-effective, costing only 10-15 paisa per kilometer and capable of traveling up to 80 kilometers on a single charge. Walton offers two e-bike models, the Takyon 1.00 and Takyon Leo, which are available at all Walton outlets. The Takyon 1.00 model, priced at Tk137,750, can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h. Meanwhile, the Takyon Leo model offers three variants with prices ranging from Tk59,850 to Tk69,850. Walton provides a parts warranty of up to 2 years on their e-bikes.
