Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC receives National Export Trophy

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, Bangladesh’s leading multinational electronics company, has been honored with the prestigious ‘National Export Trophy’ gold crest for its exceptional contributions to the export of electrical and electronics products during the financial year 2021-2022.

The award ceremony, held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday, recognized 77 companies across 32 product categories with gold, silver, and bronze crests. Walton received the gold crest in the electric and electronics product export category, as announced in a press release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attending as the chief guest, presented the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy’ to S M Nurul Alam Rezvi, Former Chairman and Incumbent Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC.

Special guests at the event included Tipu Munshi, president of the parliamentary standing committee on commerce ministry, and State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu, who chaired the ceremony. The presence of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice-Chairman Md. Anwar Hossain, Commerce Secretary Md. Selim Uddin, and FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam underscored the importance of the occasion.

In response to receiving the award, S M Nurul Alam Rezvi expressed pride in Walton’s journey from an import-oriented market to becoming a major exporter of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled electrical and electronics products to over 40 countries worldwide. He credited this achievement to Walton’s commitment to manufacturing high-tech products locally, enhancing Bangladesh’s global reputation.

Walton’s Global Business Unit aims to establish itself among the world’s top electronics brands, expanding its presence in markets across Australia, Europe, and America. The company’s participation in international fairs like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES)-2023 in Las Vegas and the Canton Fair in China has further bolstered its international profile.
