Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, a prominent player in the country’s electronics sector, has been recognized with the esteemed ‘Green Factory Award-2023’.
This accolade celebrates Walton’s commitment to bolstering productivity while prioritizing environmental sustainability, achieved through the utilization of skilled labor and eco-friendly technology within safe working environments.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment conferred the award upon Walton in the category of electrical and electronics product manufacturing. The recognition ceremony took place at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center in the capital city, where distinguished guests, including Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, commended Walton’s efforts. The award was presented to Eva Rezwana Nilu, Additional Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries, by the Speaker, alongside the presence of Senior Executive Director Shrif Harunur Rashid.
State Minister for Labour and Employment, Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, and ILO’s Country Director, Tuomo Poutiainen, graced the occasion as special guests, while Labour and Employment Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain presided over the event.

In recognition of their achievement, Walton received a prize package including Tk 1 lakh, a medal, a memento, and a certificate.
Expressing gratitude for the prestigious award, Eva Rezwana Nilu emphasized Walton’s dedication to contributing to the nation’s self-reliance in the electrical and electronics manufacturing sector. She highlighted Walton’s investment in advanced technologies and state-of-the-art machinery, enabling the production of high-quality products. Walton’s market reach extends beyond the domestic borders, with exports to over 40 countries, showcasing its pivotal role in the country’s electronics landscape.

Nilu attributed this success to the government’s industry-friendly policies, urging for continued support to foster sustainable development in the sector.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment’s ‘Green Factory Award-2023’ encompasses a diverse array of industries, recognizing 29 factories spanning across 12 sectors, underscoring the importance of environmental stewardship in industrial practices.
