A high-level delegation from the German Embassy in Dhaka visited Walton Hi-Tech Park, Bangladesh’s leading electronics manufacturer.
During a press briefing, Charge D’affaires Jan Rolf-Janowski praised Walton’s cutting-edge production facilities, stating, “I have witnessed firsthand the future of Bangladesh in manufacturing hi-tech products, value addition, and backward linkages.”
He assured continued support from the German Embassy to help Walton expand its European market presence.
On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the delegation, led by Jan Rolf-Janowski and including Redita Rokib, Faiyaz Hossain, and Fahmeda Ahmed from the German Investment and Development Company (DEG), visited Walton Hi-Tech Park in Chandra, Gazipur. They were warmly received by Walton’s Additional Managing Director Md. Ziaul Alam FCA, Deputy Managing Director Yousuf Ali, and Chief Business Officer Md. Tanvir Rahman.

Other key Walton executives, including Mohammad Arif Iqbal Khan and Shahana Akhter Shampa, were also present.
The delegation toured Walton’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, witnessing Bangladesh’s significant advancements in the production of electrical and hi-tech products.
The visit also featured the inauguration of Walton’s new Air Cooled Modular Inverter Chiller AC model, designed for large establishments like hotels, hospitals, and airports. This eco-friendly AC uses R-32a refrigerant and boasts a high energy efficiency ratio, featuring a smart microprocessor-based control system.

Walton’s AMD Ziaul Alam FCA highlighted that a significant portion of Bangladesh’s export earnings comes from Europe, particularly Germany. Beyond readymade garments, electronics and technology products represent a promising export sector, with Walton already exporting to over 12 European countries, including Germany.
