Walton Plaza, the country’s largest electronics, electrical, and IT products sales and service provider, has launched a nationwide awareness campaign against the dengue outbreak in Bangladesh. The campaign includes rallies, cleaning activities, and discussions aimed at raising awareness about dengue prevention.

The nationwide campaign commenced with awareness rallies held at all 645 Walton Plaza locations across the country. The slogan for the campaign is ‘Kreta Tumi Aponjon, Ghor Bipodeo Tomar Amra Sathi Sarakhon’.

The awareness program covers topics such as how to control the population of Aedes mosquitoes, how to protect against dengue, and what to do if infected. Participants in the campaign carried placards, banners, festoons, and distributed leaflets to spread information.

Cleaning activities were also organized at Walton Plaza branches and adjacent areas, as well as at schools, colleges, construction sites, and other places identified as potential breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes.

Open discussion programs were held at educational institutions in various cities, bringing together local politicians, students, guardians, and other community members.

Walton Plaza CEO Mohammad Rayhan emphasized that the company is committed to its corporate social responsibility. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Walton Plaza distributed free hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, safety goggles, and PPEs across the country. Additionally, the company has provided financial assistance to families of hire-purchase customers in need.

Rayhan stressed the importance of raising awareness about dengue to prevent the loss of loved ones. Walton Plaza’s efforts to create awareness will continue to help combat the dengue outbreak in Bangladesh.
