Walton Plaza Helps Deceased Customer’s Family with Financial Assistance in Narsinghdi

Walton Plaza’s “Hire Purchase Customer and Family Protection Policy” proved to be a lifeline for the family of Jalal Faraji, a farmer from Bhavla village in Belabo upazila, Narsingdi.

Faraji had purchased a smartphone from the Plaza in installments, paying only Tk 2,500 as down payment, before passing away due to illness after just one installment payment.

In a heartwarming gesture, Walton Plaza waived off all remaining installments and extended financial assistance to the bereaved family in accordance with their policy.

The Plaza’s initiative provides installment protection cards to customers who purchase goods on installments, and promises to offer financial aid ranging from Tk50,000 to Tk3 lakh in the event of the customer’s death during the installment period.

In addition, the Plaza also pledges to give Tk25,000 to Tk150,000 to the family of the deceased customer if they pass away, after adjusting the unpaid installments of the respective products.

Walton Plaza’s higher officials, including Divisional Credit Manager Suman Chandra Basak, Regional Sales Manager Nure Alam Siddiqui, Regional Credit Managers Tanvir Hossain and Delwar Hossain, Walton Plaza Brand Manager Wahiduzzaman, and Belabo Plaza Manager Sohel Rana, were present at the Bhavla new market area of the upazila to hand over financial assistance to Lovely Begum, the wife of the deceased customer Jalal Faraji.

Jalal Faraji, a farmer from Belabo, had purchased a “Primo GH11” model smartphone on installment from Belabo Walton Plaza on December 9, 2022. He passed away on February 3, 2023, leaving behind his wife, a daughter, and two sons. Jalal’s family was struggling to pay for his kidney dialysis treatment, and they incurred debt as a result.

Under Walton Plaza’s “Hire Purchase Buyer and Family Protection Policy,” the Plaza offered financial aid to Jalal’s family, providing them with Tk 50,000. After paying the remaining installments of Tk 8,782, the family received Tk 41,218 in cash.

Lovely Begum was unaware of Walton’s hire purchase protection facility before receiving financial assistance. She expressed gratitude towards Walton Plaza for standing by her family during such a difficult time. Brand Manager Wahiduzzaman noted that Walton Plaza’s financial assistance and installment waivers in case of customer death are a breakthrough step, making the Plaza a unique example in the world.
