Popular electronics brand ‘Walton‘ has introduced a range of new single-door all-rounder refrigerator models in the local market, designed to cater to the needs of small families, bachelors, pharmacies, hospitals, hotels, resorts, restaurants, and shops.
These innovative refrigerator models, with capacities spanning from 50 to 225 litres, are being crafted at Walton’s state-of-the-art refrigerator manufacturing facility located at their Chandra headquarters in Gazipur, as detailed in a press release.
Distinguished by their unique design, the single-door refrigerators provide a generous amount of usable space, with a configuration of 90 percent dedicated to normal refrigeration and 10 percent to freezing. Notably, they are 30 percent more energy-efficient than standard fridges of similar sizes.
Tofail Ahmed, the Chief Business Officer for Walton Refrigerators, explained that these single-door refrigerator models were created to serve a diverse range of users. They are ideal for small families of 1 to 4 members, offering affordability and practicality. Additionally, they are in high demand in the pharmaceutical sector for storing medications.

It’s worth mentioning that single-door refrigerators hold a substantial 75 percent market share in South Asian countries. Walton has been exporting a significant quantity of single-door refrigerators to various Asian nations, making it one of their most successful export categories.
Anticipating a strong demand from domestic customers, Ahmed expects these Walton single-door refrigerators to be highly sought after.
Azmal Ferdous, the Head of Walton Refrigerator Research and Innovation Center, highlighted the specialized features of these single-door models. They incorporate ‘Silver Clean++’ technology, which automatically safeguards food from harmful bacteria. Moreover, they utilize the environmentally friendly R600a refrigerant recognized worldwide and an optimized cooling circuit for substantial energy savings. The fridge’s design also includes a convenient onion tray. Additionally, these models have obtained the coveted UL certificate from the United States, ensuring their compliance with safety requirements for entry into the US and Canadian markets.

Currently, Walton offers over 10 single-door refrigerator models with four unique designs in the local market. Prices range from Tk14,990 to Tk30,000, and customers benefit from a one-year replacement guarantee along with a 12-year compressor warranty. Walton’s commitment to providing swift and high-quality after-sales service is reinforced by their ISO-certified service management system, supported by 83 service centers across the country.
