ACI Limited is stepping into the bakery business through a joint venture with the London-based biscuits producer, United Biscuits Topco Limited. The move was announced by ACI on the Dhaka Stock Exchange website on Tuesday (14 November).
The company’s board has given the green light to establish a joint-venture company in collaboration with United Biscuits Topco Limited, operating under the brand name “pladis.” This joint venture, proposed as Pladis ACI Bangladesh Limited, marks ACI’s entry into the bakery industry.

ACI intends to invest approximately Tk50 crore over the next two years, securing a 49% shareholding in the proposed company. This move signals ACI’s strategic venture into the bakery sector, capitalizing on the partnership with a renowned London-based biscuits manufacturer.
