City Bank and Bangladesh Agricultural University join hands through MoU for Agricultural Development

City Bank recently signed an agreement with Bangladesh Agricultural University at City Bank Center.

City Bank and Bangladesh Agricultural University have teamed up to promote agriculture and help the country achieve sustainable food security.

Through a knowledge partnership, both organizations will work together to enhance education and human resources development in the field of agriculture. This will include boosting agricultural production and quality, developing new capacity and skills, and encouraging innovation.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, City Bank will provide a significant amount of funding throughout 2023 to support the agricultural sector.

This money will be concentrated in areas like technology transfer and agricultural research and development, which can help boost production and mechanization.

By making investments in these crucial areas, we hope to enhance the livelihoods of farmers and other community members while safeguarding Bangladesh’s agriculture industry.

The program will be carried out by the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), which is part of the Institute of Bangladesh Agricultural University.

The BAURES team will work closely with City Bank to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

The agreement was signed by Mashrur Arefin, the managing director & CEO of City Bank, and Professor Dr. Lutful Hassan, the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. A K M Mominul Islam of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr. Md. Zainul Abedin, the director of Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, the additional managing director & CFO, and other high-ranking officials from both organizations.
