FBCCI partners with CNN to promote trade, investment opportunities in Bangladesh globally
The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) will organise the “Bangladesh Business Summit 2023” in March 2023 to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
To cover this mega event globally and allow as many people as possible to follow and be updated on the progress and events of the summit, the FBCCI signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with US-based multinational news channel Cable News Network – better known as CNN – as its international media partner Saturday.
By having CNN as its media partner, the FBCCI is confident that the summit will be widely publicised and successful in drawing in both local and international businesses to participate and celebrate Bangladesh’s achievements over the past 50 years.
Under this agreement, CNN will promote trade potential and investment opportunities in Bangladesh globally.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Md Jashim Uddin and the CNN South Asia Sales Director Abhijeet Dhar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the capital city Dhaka. The Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman was present at the time of signing.
Salman said: “The business representatives and investors of different countries will be able to learn about the success and potential of Bangladesh through the business summit, which will attract foreign investors.”
Besides investment on a national and international level, the summit will be giving special attention to the small and mid-size enterprise (SME) sector. Jashim said sectors with potential, like the textile industry, digital economy, circular economy, and the blue economy will be showcased at the summit.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will recognize entrepreneurs who have contributed to the country’s economy and businessmen who have fought for freedom.
FBCCI President Shafiul Islam Jashim said that Bangladesh can benefit from industry relocations across the world through this summit.
The World Trade Organization’s director general, the European Union’s trade commissioner, Jetro’s chairman, CEOs from several multinational companies, ministers from several countries, and business representatives will attend the summit.
