Five Companies and One Person Received Brac Bank-The Daily Star ICT Awards

Five companies and one person received awards at the Brac Bank-The Daily Star ICT Awards for their excellent work in advancing the technology sector in Bangladesh. This is the 8th edition of these awards.

The Planning Minister, MA Mannan, presented the awards at Le Meridien Dhaka. Kazi Saifuddin Munir, the CEO of IT Consultants Ltd, received the ICT Business Person of the Year 2022 award.

Divine IT Ltd won the award for being the best ICT Solution Provider in the local market. Dynamic Solution Innovators Ltd was recognized as the best ICT Solution Provider in the international market.

Pickaboo.com received an award for being the best Digital Commerce of the Year. Two startup companies, Truck Lagbe and Moner Bondhu, were recognized as the best ICT Startups of the Year.

Several important figures attended the event, including Morin Talukder, Anayet Rashid, Tawhida Shiropa, Mojahedul Hoque Abul Hasanat, Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan, and Kazi Saifuddin Munir.

The Daily Star organized this event with the support of Brac Bank and the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). They have been recognizing outstanding achievements in the IT industry since 2016 to promote the importance of technology in the country and encourage innovation.

The IT sector in Bangladesh is growing rapidly and is expected to reach $5 billion by 2025. There are over 4,500 IT and ITES companies in Bangladesh, employing more than 750,000 ICT professionals. In 2019, the industry earned more than $1 billion in exports, with a consistent annual growth rate of 21 percent since 2013. Bangladesh also has a significant number of online freelancers, with the second-largest pool in the world, and they are contributing to the country’s economic growth.
