Google to release ChatGPT- like bot named Bard

The new AI chatbot will be powered by Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) and will use information from the web to provide detailed responses to user queries.

The company aims to combine the vast knowledge of the world with the intelligence of their language models to provide high-quality answers. Bard will be available for testing to select users and will be released to the public in the coming weeks.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the company is using a lightweight version of LaMDA for Bard, which requires less computing power and can provide more feedback. The company’s goal is to create a healthy online ecosystem, and as they develop AI tools, they plan to prioritize sending search traffic to creators and news publishers.

Google’s rival, Microsoft, is also expected to make an announcement about their AI projects, including the integration of ChatGPT into its technology, at a press event on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Google AI subsidiary DeepMind is also considering a private beta test of an AI chatbot called Sparrow in 2023.

Large language models like ChatGPT, Google’s LaMDA, and others have become an integral part of AI technology and are widely used for various tasks such as generating text, processing genetic data, and answering questions. Google has a program focused on responsible AI and machine learning technology, and their goal is to build ML models and products in a responsible and ethical manner.
