Huawei Receives Prestigious Energy Globe World Award for Yancheng Low-Carbon & Smart Energy Industrial Park Project.

Huawei, the renowned Chinese tech company, has been honored with The Energy Globe World Award, one of the most esteemed environmental accolades worldwide. This prestigious award aims to commend projects that prioritize energy efficiency, sustainability, and the utilization of renewable energy sources. Presented by a distinguished panel of organizations including the Energy Globe Foundation, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the award attracted submissions from over 180 countries, with Huawei emerging as the sole Chinese recipient.

The award recognizes Huawei’s outstanding contribution through the Yancheng Low-Carbon & Smart Energy Industrial Park project, developed in collaboration with the Yancheng Power Supply Company of State Grid Jiangsu. Among more than 2,000 global submissions, Huawei’s project, also known as the Net Zero Carbon Intelligent Campus project, was chosen for its innovative approach, generating 85% of its energy from renewable sources. This initiative annually conserves 3 million kWh of power and reduces carbon emissions by 5,600 tons compared to conventional thermal projects producing equivalent electricity.

In addition to The Energy Globe World Award, Huawei was also honored with the Champion Prize at the World Summit Information Society 2022 for its exemplary project. The Net Zero Carbon Intelligent Campus project embodies five core values: net-zero carbon energy supply, multi-energy coordination, optimal energy efficiency, digital empowerment, and cross-border innovation. It integrates renewables, centralized and distributed energy systems, hydrogen, and energy storage in a groundbreaking manner. Huawei addresses energy, carbon, and digital integration challenges through a comprehensive approach, incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing for sustainable and intelligent operations.

By leveraging the T³ Transformation Model and net-zero carbon intelligent energy system, Huawei’s project encompasses energy transition, net-zero carbon transformation, and digital transformation. This initiative contributes significantly to building green, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy systems in campus settings, thereby facilitating cities and nations in achieving their carbon-neutral goals. Huawei’s endeavor promotes the creation of net-zero environments globally, advancing the collective effort towards a sustainable future.
