ACI CO-RO Bangladesh Ltd, a joint venture between ACI Ltd and Danish fruit drinks manufacturer CO-RO A/S, has introduced its range of juice products in Bangladesh under the brand name Sunquick.

Launching its operations on February 6, the company aims to revolutionize the ready-to-drink market in Bangladesh by offering products that prioritize purity and flavor. Sunquick’s initial lineup includes three flavors – mango, orange, and berry – all made with natural ingredients and free from artificial additives, catering to evolving consumer preferences.

Soren Ravn, Executive Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region at CO-RO, expressed confidence in Sunquick’s appeal to Bangladeshi consumers, emphasizing its rich taste, high vitamin C content, and absence of preservatives, artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.

Arif Dowla, Managing Director of ACI Ltd, highlighted the strength of the partnership between CO-RO and ACI in delivering quality products to the Bangladeshi market.

Sunquick’s journey traces back to CO-RO’s establishment in 1942, with its international expansion beginning in the 1960s. Today, CO-RO products enjoy strong market positions across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Bangladesh’s large market potential, coupled with its growing economy and population, makes it an attractive destination for innovative products like Sunquick. The joint venture emphasizes local production and sourcing, ensuring the use of high-quality local mango pulp without preservatives.

The venture has invested approximately $20 million in its Narayanganj factory, with additional investments in marketing, distribution, and branding. The highly automated production facility requires a minimal workforce, with plans to create 400-450 new jobs overall.

Despite competition in Bangladesh’s fruit drinks segment, Sunquick aims to carve a niche for itself by offering premium quality products. Retailing at competitive prices, Sunquick ensures affordability without compromising on quality.

Looking ahead, Sunquick eyes export opportunities, leveraging its pioneering taste, quality, and innovative packaging designs to capture international markets. With its commitment to excellence, Sunquick is poised to make a significant impact in Bangladesh’s beverage industry.
