RFL Commences Export of Sanitary Fittings to the UK

RFL has commenced the export of PVC sanitary fittings to the UK, marking a significant expansion in its international market presence following recent exports to other countries. The initial shipment, totaling 20 metric tonnes, was dispatched to the UK from the RFL Fittings factory at Habiganj Industrial Park in Habiganj on January 10, as detailed in a media release.

Debashish Sarkar, Head of Marketing at RFL Fittings, stated, “By exporting our fittings to the UK, we have made our entry into the European market. The first consignment has been successfully sent from our factory, and we plan to dispatch several more in the coming months. Additionally, we are gearing up to export PVC fittings to Oman, and our team is actively working on sending consignments to the USA.”

Traditionally, Bangladesh relied heavily on imports, with around 90% of pipes and fittings sourced from countries such as China, India, and Malaysia. However, the landscape has transformed significantly, with local producers, including RFL Plastics Limited, now manufacturing almost all the pipes and fittings used in the country, according to Md Jahangir Alam, Executive Director of RFL Plastics Limited.

RFL Fittings initiated its export venture by shipping products to India, and presently, RFL pipe and fittings are being exported to various countries, including India, Nepal, Brunei, Samoa, and Ghana.
