Ten youths receive JCI TOYP-2022 Award
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh has announced the winners of its Ten Outstanding Young Persons TOYP Award 2022. The award recognizes 10 young people who have made significant contributions in their respective sectors.
Prothom Alo Digital Business head Jabed Sultan has won this year’s award for his contribution to digital transformation and innovative initiatives in the news media.
On Friday night, information and broadcasting minister Hasan Mahmud and JCI Bangladesh president Niaz Morshed handed out awards to winners at a ceremony lasting two days in a hotel situated in COX’s Bazar, according to a press release.
The other awardees for this year are: Rashid Maimunul Islam, managing director of Monno Ceramics; Shahriar Jahan, deputy-managing director of KSRM; Mohammad Akhtar Parvez, managing director of PHP Automobiles; Aziz Arman, co-founder and CEO of Jatri; Asif Rahman, founder and CEO of ARCom; Ataur Rahman Chowdhury, co-founder of ShopUp; physician and development activist Tahsin Bahar; actor Mushfiq Farhan and YouTuber Towhid Afridi.
During the award-giving ceremony, information minister Hasan Mahmud stated that Bangladesh would become a developed country in 2041. He credited the power of youth and mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to realise the dream of Father of the Nation.
Niaz Morshed said JCI’s TOYP award is given in over 100 countries around the world. JCI is one of the most prominent organizations working with youth, globally.
JCI works for the leadership development of youth around the world. The organization has over 200,000 members in 105 countries.
JCI Bangladesh gives the TOYP award to 10 youths every year for their contribution to society.
