Walton first-ever ‘International Advanced Components and Technology Expo’

Walton’s Advanced Technology Solution (ATS) Department is organizing the nation’s inaugural mega industrial expo, known as the ‘ATS Expo-2023.’ The event aims to showcase Walton’s range of manufactured electrical and electronics goods, home and kitchen appliances, ICT devices, industrial materials, components, testing labs, and solutions to both domestic and international industrial buyers and visitors, according to a press release.

Scheduled to take place from August 10 to 12, 2023, at Hall No. 1 of the International Convention Center Bashundhara in the capital city, the ATS Expo-2023, managed by Walton, aims to empower domestic industries by offering quality industrial materials, components, and testing solutions to leading industrial organizations. The event seeks to bolster the growth of the industrial sector, reduce import costs by saving foreign currency, increase export earnings, and contribute to national economic prosperity.

Golam Murshed, Managing Director and CEO of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, expressed that the ATS Expo will be the first and largest international industrial fair organized by a single organization in Bangladesh. The expo will feature over 50,000 environmentally-friendly, energy-saving electrical and electronics products, home and kitchen appliances, industrial materials, components, testing labs, facilities, and machinery. It is intended to become an annual event to attract the attention of domestic and foreign buyers, with plans to expand the exhibitions beyond the country’s borders.

Walton’s headquarters in Chandra Gazipur houses manufacturing plants, the country’s largest research and innovation center, and multiple internationally-accredited testing labs, including NUSDAT-UTS. These facilities will enable the testing of products manufactured by other leading industrial organizations in Bangladesh.

Having established a strong presence in the domestic market, Walton has successfully expanded its reach to international markets. Currently, Walton products are exported to more than 40 countries across Asia, Europe, America, the Middle East, and Africa.

The internationally-accredited testing lab, NUSDAT, situated at Walton Headquarters, holds accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB). Product quality reports from BAB-accredited testing organizations are recognized by member countries of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC). Consequently, the testing certificates issued by NUSDAT lab are directly accepted by government testing standards organizations worldwide, providing domestic and foreign companies with a convenient means to test their product quality.

The ATS Expo-2023 will feature four categories: Testing Solutions, Services, Products, and Industrial Materials and Components. The Testing Solutions category encompasses various internationally-standardized testing labs, such as the Cable & Wire Lab, Noise Testing Lab, LED Lab, NUSDAT-UTS, Precision Engineering Laboratory, Product Quality Control Lab, Walton Science Research Lab, and Walton Metallurgical Analysis & Research Lab.

The Services category will include construction services, mold and die, power-press, refrigerators, and SMT (surface mounting technology). The Product category will feature appliances like fridges, TVs, ACs, fasteners, PCBs, home and kitchen appliances, chemicals, masterbatches, mold and die, and IT products. Lastly, the Industrial category will showcase components used as primary raw materials in various industries including agro, automobiles, cement, ceramics, chemicals, cosmetics, digital, electric and electronics, pharmaceuticals, glass, heavy vehicles and air conditioning, IoT, IT, leather, light engineering, plastics, printing and publications, garments, and wholesale trading.
