Winners of Daraz smartphone photography competition announced

It was announced today that the winners of the Daraz Presents Smartphone Photography Competition Bangladesh@50″ have been decided. The competition, which was organised by Youth Opportunities, was held at The Daily Star Centre in Dhaka in order to celebrate the achievements of Bangladesh’s 50 years.

Out of more than 600 submissions, Md Abir Hassan was chosen as the winner of the competition. He won a flight ticket that goes from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar and then back to Dhaka.

Md Ratul and Aryan Hassan were the first and second runners-up respectively. They were both awarded with gift vouchers. The fourth to tenth positions were also awarded with certificates. Besides that, all participants of the competition will receive an e-certificate.

The editor and publisher of The Daily Star, Mahfuz Anam, was the chief guest at the programme. AHM Hasinul Quddus Rusho, chief corporate affairs officer of Daraz, and Md Tajdin Hassan, chief business officer of The Daily Star, also attended the event.

Mahfuz Anam said, “I would like to congratulate the participants of Bangladesh@50 for their beautiful and moving portrayal of our country’s accomplishments over the last 50 years.Their pictures truly capture the spirit of our nation and its people, and I’m proud to see such talent coming out of Bangladesh.”

AHM Hasinul Quddus Rusho said, “Bangladesh@50 was meant to showcase the beauty of our country through the eyes of its people. The vivid and diverse imagery of the land has been perfectly captured by our talented participants, and I’m proud to see what they’ve achieved.”

Tajdin Hassan stated his admiration for the participants of the competition, saying, “It’s a creative challenge to be able to portray the dreams and aspirations that Bangladeshis nurture deep within their hearts. I’m amazed to see how beautifully the participants have pulled it off.”
