Zaynax Health and Swisscontact Bangladesh’s Project ASTHA Join Hands to Extend Affordable Healthcare Services to the Last Mile through Digitalization

Zaynax Health, the first health super app in Bangladesh has recently signed a groundbreaking agreement with Swisscontact Bangladesh’s project ASTHA to enhance and extend affordable healthcare services in the last mile areas of the country. The signing ceremony took place at Swisscontact Bangladesh’s headquarters in Dhaka, with Ms. Farzana Amin, Team Leader of project ASTHA, and Mr. Parvez Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of Zaynax Health, putting pen to paper.

This collaborative effort aims to empower Community Paramedics (CPs) with the tools and knowledge to bridge the healthcare gap for people with limited or no access to healthcare services in remote and rural regions. The primary objective of this initiative is to enable Community Paramedics (CPs) to offer healthcare services comprehensively. These CPs will play a vital role in connecting patients with specialist doctors, booking appointments, and guiding patients on where to find discounts on diagnostics, all through the innovative Zaynax Health Super App. Moreover, CPs will receive commissions for each service they provide, enhancing their financial independence and credibility as healthcare facilitators.

Furthermore, extensive awareness campaigns, including poster and leaflet distribution, as well as miking, will be conducted in various rural areas. These activities aim to raise overall health consciousness and inform people about various healthcare benefits, with the expectation that the quality of life in these areas will significantly improve.

In the initial phase, specific areas like Nilphamari, Sunamganj, and Patuakhali districts will implement this program through the e-Referral System. Community Paramedics (CPs) in these areas will also distribute “Doctor Calling Cards” among the general public. Through these cards, individuals can access doctor consultations twice a month for a minimal cost of 49 taka. As a result, overcrowding in local hospitals will decrease, and healthcare services will become more accessible, as envisioned by the teams at ASTHA and Zaynax Health.

Mr. Parvez Ahmed, COO of Zaynax Health said, “Our firm belief is that this project will initiate a new era in addressing healthcare challenges in rural areas. We are proud to have Swisscontact’s ASTHA project as our partner, extending a helping hand in realizing this vision.”

Ms. Farzana Amin, Team Leader of Project ASTHA, Swisscontact Bangladesh said, “This is an important and timely initiative which at one hand enhances the service provision of the community paramedics and on the other, extends quality healthcare service to the people at the grassroots.”

While the initial phase of the program will last for one year, gradual expansion is planned to cover additional regions, furthering the goal of comprehensive healthcare for all. Swisscontact Bangladesh envisions this project as a catalyst for positive change, enabling rural communities to access quality healthcare services effortlessly.
